Our history

Established in 1882, Saint Joseph Maronite Parish in Larnaca stands as a living testimony of faith, perseverance and community.
For more than a century, the parish has served generations of believers, offering spiritual guidance, sacred liturgy and a home for prayer in the heart of Cyprus.

As a Maronite parish of the Antiochene Syriac tradition, in communion with the Catholic Church, Saint Joseph Parish carries a rich spiritual heritage rooted in the legacy of Saint Maron and the Eastern Christian tradition.

Today, our community continues its mission with renewed hope as we embark on a historic milestone: the construction of a new church, a sacred space designed to serve our growing parish family and future generations.

ST. JOSEPH LEGACY

Saint Joseph, husband of the Virgin Mary and earthly father of Jesus Christ, is a figure of profound humility and silent strength.

Though few words of his are recorded in Scripture, his life speaks with clarity and authority as a model of obedience to God’s will, courage in uncertainty, devotion to family, and the dignity of work. A carpenter by profession, Saint Joseph represents integrity in daily life and faith expressed through action. He accepted his mission with trust, protected the Holy Family, and fulfilled his responsibilities without seeking recognition.

His spiritual legacy continues to guide our parish; we look to him as a protector, a guardian of families, and a patron of workers. His example inspires our community to live faithfully, serve quietly, and build with purpose.
